Commercial Property: The United Bldg.

2 min read

The United Bldg. is North America’s tallest heritage retention development, redefining urban living in one of Toronto’s most prestigious neighbourhoods. Blending past, present, and future, it embraces the city’s diversity while celebrating the building’s historical roots.

Developed by Davpart Inc., the mixed-use development transforms the historic 9-storey Maclean Publishing Company building into a landmark destination. Rising above the preserved heritage structure, the 52-storey towers will feature office and retail space at the base and new residences above.

Designed by BH Architects, The United Bldg. seamlessly integrates the historic architecture from the 1928 building and the 1961 expansion with modern design. To highlight the heritage podium, the tower is set back in two slim forms — the North and South Towers — connected by a bridge.

The development will offer 709 luxury residences, ranging from studios to 3-bedroom penthouses and double-storey sky townhouses. Every suite is thoughtfully designed with open-concept layouts, floor-to-ceiling windows, modern kitchens, custom bathrooms, and spacious balconies that elevate everyday life.

Residents will enjoy an extensive selection of indoor and outdoor amenities spanning multiple levels. Entertainment spaces include a party room, fireplace lounge, BBQ areas, sports lounge with billiards, golf simulator, gaming lounge, bocce court, and theatre. Wellness amenities feature a fitness centre, all-season pool, indoor-outdoor pool deck, sauna and rain rooms, yoga deck, hot tubs, and zen garden. Dedicated workspaces, a library, and landscaped public walking paths further enhance the lifestyle experience.

Located at the iconic intersection of University and Dundas, The United Bldg. is at the center of Toronto’s leading cultural destinations, dining, cafés, entertainment, and transit connections.

The United Bldg. is set for completion in 2026.
